The Service Action Group provides a platform for the Accountable Manager (or Safety Risk Owner) to to discuss safety management matters, share information and identify improvement opportunities related to the service..
The Service Safety Action Group has the following Terms of Reference:

Objective #1: Deliver Safe Services | Review the Status of Service Safety Cases. |
Review Safety Risk Levels for each identified service hazard. | |
Discuss potential new service hazards | |
Review and endorse safety performance indicators and targets for services. | |
Review service plans are in place to manage emergency situations and business continuity. | |
Objective #2: Analyse Service Safety Performance | Review trends in service safety performance in context of any relevant targets. |
Review status of service events and investigations and recommended actions. | |
Compare safety performance with external service providers. | |
Objective #3: Identify Service Safety Improvements | Review status and advise on service safety improvement actions. |
Provide resources and sponsorship of service safety improvement actions. | |
Endorse communication of safety improvement activities to internal and external stakeholders. | |
Objective #4: Control Changes to Services | Review status of major change programmes. |
Review status of any planned lifecycle activities and analyse approach. | |
Objective #5: Supporting Organisation and Culture | Review status of employee and contractor competency within the organisation. |
Review performance and effectiveness of SMS implementation within the service area | |
Objective #6: SMS Documentation and Record-keeping | Report any improvements to SMS documentation. |
Other members can include: Service Managers, Operational Safety Staff, Change Owners etc.
The Accountable Manager or Safety Risk Owner for the Service is designated as Chairperson. Depending on the structure of the organisation the Accountable Manager may have a designed Safety Risk Owner for the Service.
The Service Safety Specialist designated for the Service is the Secretary.
